Jet to Let Investments Open Day - Sunday 22nd April 2007 in London

Jet to Let Investments will be holding a free Open Day on Sunday 22nd April in London. The aim of the day is to allow investors the opportunity to discuss their investment strategies, speak to mortgage brokers about raising finance efficiently and to examine the opportunities in Cyprus, Spain, Morocco and Germany.

Farrell's View

Berlin

As I have written on previous occasions I lived in Berlin for two years during the Soviet era when the city was divided. Wow, what a change, particularly in the East.

The hotel I stayed in last week was awash with investors from the UK, Ireland, the US and Germany - we all agreed that for value, Berlin is unbeatable.

However, like most cities there are areas to invest in and others to avoid. The price and yield anomalies were interesting to say the least. In one example, I was offered apartments on the edge of the city at Euro 2000 per m2 with a yield below 4%. However, I managed to find apartments as low as Euro 870 to Euro 1200 m2 in good locations with yields of 6.5%.

There is a buzz about the place and with overall German economic performance on the rise, the next 5 years will prove an interesting journey for the investor who buys right and also in the best locations.

Property prices haven't really moved for 12 years, but this will not be the case for the next 12. We will cover this market in detail at the Open Day Sunday 22nd April 2007.
